Triad Public Safety Radio Group: New 222/900mhz HT from Alinco

The Triad Public Safety Radio Group is an amateur radio and general radio monitoring group based in the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina. The PSRG mission is to increase the influence and prevalence of Amateur Radio within the operations of Law Enforcement, Emergency Services, Emergency Management, and Federal Agencies, as well as to increase the inter-agency relationships among public safety personnel. New 222/900mhz HT from Alinco

Alinco has recently announced their DJ-G29 portable radio, featuring a full 5-watts out 222mhz and 2.5-watts on 900mhz.

This comes as welcome news for all of us that are interested in 900mhz operation. Previously the only solution to 900mhz portable radios was modified commercial radios.
